How To Make Coconut Flakes - Chef Lola's Kitchen

Coconut flakes is one of my favorite snacks while growing up. It used to be sold in a tiny little plastic bag back in my elementary school days.

I know I loved it and I spend virtually all my pocket money buying the coconut flakes and some other little snacks (which I will still post pretty soon). I did not know the nutritional benefits back in the days but now I know better.

Ingredients

1 medium size coconut

1/4 + 3 Tablespoon of Sugar

2 Tablespoon of oil

Directions

Grate the coconut and clean the meat

Add Sugar and stir

on a medium pan, heat your oil on a med-high heat

Add your coconut to the hot oil

Continuously stir the coconut as you toast this will enable even browning

Your sweet flakes should be 4-6 minutes.



Note that the time taken for the coconut to brown depends on the quantity of your flakes. Lesser flakes will brown faster than a large quantity of flakes.
