Durians smell is so strong that the fruit is even banned from many public places in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia and there are signs in most hotels in Asia threatening you with a fine if you take it into your room. It is extremely sweet, custard-like and as I said, like nothing else in this world.Durian is known as the king of fruits, and mangosteen is known as the queen of fruits in Thailand. Thai people say that durian is a warming fruit, and eating durian does actually warm up your body in a similar way that alcohol does. Durian raises your blood pressure. In the opposite way, mangosteen is said to cool your body, so both fruits are often consumed together.
