Ingredients and Procedure

Heat the Pan
2 tbsp mustard oil to fry the fish first
2 piece Rohu
½ tsp turmeric/haldi powder
salt to taste
1 tsp kalonji/nigella seeds
Add the fish now
Fry the fish
Add the tomatoes
Add some Tomato purée
1 tsp haldi powder
1 tsp red chili powder
3-4 chopped green chilies
Pour little water
Add 2 broken green chilies
Cover the pan
Open the pan
Add the fish in the pan
2-3 tbsp water
Cover with lid for a minute once more
Let it cook
Salt to taste for the gravy
Add some coriander/dhaniya leaves
Drizzle of mustard oil on top
Macher Jhal is ready to serve.
