How To Make Metkut Powder | Authentic Maharashtrian Accompaniment | Recipe by Archana in Marathi | Ruchkar Mejwani

Metkut is an authentic Maharashtrian accompaniment that goes very well with plain rice or bread. Learn the quick and easy recipe from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani Basic Cooking.

Ingredients:

3 Dry Red Chillies
1 Cup Urad Dal
1/2 Cup Chana Dal
1/2 Cup Rice Grains
3 tbsp Coriander Seeds
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 Cup Wheat Flour
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
2 tsp Dried Ginger Powder
1 tsp Asafeotida
1 tsp Salt

Method:

- In a pan dry roast urad dal, dried red chillies, chana dal, rice grains, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
- Put the roasted ingredients in the mixer blender.
- Dry roast wheat flour for couple of minutes. Add it to the blender.
- Also add turmeric powder, dried ginger powder, asafeotida and salt.
- Grind everything to get a smooth powder.
- Metkoot Powder is ready to be used.
