Skip on the regular upma and make this version even better with jowar.JOWAR UPMAIngredients1 cup sorghum (jowar)Salt to taste2 tbsps ghee1 tsp cumin seedsA pinch of asafoetida (hing)1 sprig of curry leaves2-3 green chillies, slit½ tsp sugar2 tbsps roasted and crushed peanuts2 tbsps chopped fresh corianderLemon wedges for servingCoriander sprig for garnishMethod1. Wash and soak jowar in sufficient water for 8-10 hours.2. Drain the water, transfer in a pressure cooker. Add 2½ cups water, salt and close the lid.3. Cook on medium heat till the pressure is released 4-5 times. 4. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds and once they start to change the colour, add, add asafoetida, curry leaves and chillies and sauté for 30-40 seconds.5. Open the pressure cooker once the pressure settles completely.6. Add cooked jowar and mix well. Add sugar, adjust salt, peanuts, coriander and mix well.7.
