• 1/4 cup besan, gram flour
• 2 tablespoons oil (canola or vegetable oil)
• 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
• 1/8 teaspoon asafetida (hing)
• 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (mathi)
• 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
• 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• Approx. 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro, (hara dhania)
• 1/4 teaspoon gram masala
• Approx. 4 cups water
For garnishing
• Approx. 1 tablespoon thinly sliced ginger
• Approx. 1 tablespoon thinly sliced green chilies
• 2 teaspoons lemon juice
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
