Prawns and drumsticks cooked in freshly ground coconut based tangy gravy.KARWARI PRAWN CURRYIngredients½ cup medium prawns, shelled and deveinedSalt to taste½ teaspoon turmeric powder2 tablespoons coconut oil1 teaspoon coriander seeds4-5 black peppercorns3-4 dried red chillies1 teaspoon rice½ teaspoon tamarind pulp½ medium onion, finely chopped½ cup fresh scraped coconut2-3 drumsticks, scraped and cut into 2 inch pieces Method1. Take prawns in a bowl. Add salt and turmeric powder, mix and set aside to marinate.2. Heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a non-stick pan. Add coriander seeds and peppercorns and sauté till fragrant. 3. Add broken dried red chillies, mix and roast for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and cool.4. Grind together the roasted spice mixture alongwithrice, tamarind pulp, 1 tablespoonchopped onion, coconut and some water to a fine paste.5. Heat remaining coconut oil in a non-stick pan. Add remaining onion and sauté till golden. Add marinated prawns and drumsticks and mix well. Add ½ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add the prepared paste, mix and cook on low heat for 2 minutes.6.
