Prawns cooked in freshly ground coconut red chilli paste.

KARWARI PRAWNS SUKKA

Ingredients

1 cup medium prawns, shelled and deveined
½ cup scraped coconut + for garnish
4 dried red chillies
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

Method

1. Take prawns in a large bowl. Add salt and turmeric powder and keep aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
2. Take coconut and red chillies in a mixer jar. Add sufficient water and grind to a smooth paste.
3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add onions and sauté till translucent.
4. Add ground paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
5. Add prawns and cook for 5-10 minutes or till prawns are well cooked.
6. Transfer into a serving dish garnish with coconut and serve hot.
