Kolkata Special Vegetable chop is a very popular street food in Bengal. The main ingredients for these chops are beetroot, carrot, peanuts and the special Bengali bhaja masala. Bengali style vegetable chop is very different in taste as compared to regular vegetable cutlet or vegetable fritters, mainly because of the addition of our special bhaja masala (roasted spices). I don’t like peanuts, so I didn't add them in my recipe. But adding peanuts give a nice crunchy texture to the chop. If you want an authentic Kolkata style vegetable chop then adding peanuts is a must.Head to the blog to get the full recipe -https://www.poulamiskitchentale.com/kolkata-special-vegetable-chop/Ingredients -For Masala4-5 bay leaves6-7 cloves1 cinnamon stick½ tsp cumin seeds½ tsp coriander seeds½ tsp black peppercorn½ tsp fennel seedsMain Ingredients2 tbsp oil1 tsp panchphoron1 tbsp ginger paste/grated3-4 green chillies chopped1 large beetroot peeled and cut into 3 cm long matchsticks1 large carrot peeled and cut into 3 cm long matchstickssalt to taste2 medium potatoes steamed/boiled(before adding mash potatoes properly)¼ cup green peas1½ tbsp sugar1 tsp amchur/dry mango powder1 tbsp gheeFor Coating2 tbsp maida/all purpose flour2 tbsp corn flourpinch of saltwater as required1 cup breadcrumb⅓ cup maida/all purpose flour
