A unique burger where the tikkis are made with potatoes and fresh methi. Cheesy, healthy and so yummy!

ALOO METHI TIKKI BURGER

Ingredients

3-4 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
1½ cups fresh fenugreek (methi) leaves
Salt to taste
1½ tbsps oil + for shallow frying
1 tsp cumin seeds
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
1 inch ginger, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
½ tsp Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder
½ lemon
2 tsps sugar
50 grams mozzarella cheese, grated
1 tsp red chilli flakes
½ tsp dried mint leaves
1 tsp black pepper powder
½ cup dried bread crumbs
4 burger buns
Butter as required
Dip
½ cup yogurt
1 tbsp garlic, minced
½ tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
Few Iceberg lettuce leaves
4 cheese slices
Onion rings as required
Tomato slices as required
Tomato ketchup for drizzling + for serving
French fries for serving

Method

1. Chop methi leaves.
2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add cumin seeds and once it changes colour add green chillies, garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute.
3. Add onion and sauté till translucent, add methi and mix well. Add salt and Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder, cook for 2-3 minutes. Add potatoes and mix well. Squeeze the juice of lemon and add 1 tsp sugar, mix and set aside to cool.
4. Take mozzarella cheese in a bowl, add chilli flakes, dried mint, black pepper powder and salt and mix well. Add remaining sugar and mix.
5. Add dried bread crumbs to the potato mixture and mix well.
6. Take a portion of potato mixture and stuff it with a generous portion of the cheese mixture and shape into a tikki.
7. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick tawa, place the tikkis and shallow fry till golden brown and crisp on both sides.
8. Cut the buns in halves and apply butter on one side. Place them on the same tawa with the butter side facing down and lightly toast them for a few seconds.
9. Meanwhile, take yogurt in a bowl, add minced garlic, black pepper powder and salt and mix well.
10. For making the burger, take the base of the toasted bun, apply yogurt dip, then place a few lettuce leaves. Gently place the tikki and place a cheese slice. Place a few onion rings, a few tomato slices, sprinkle salt and black pepper powder. Drizzle some ketchup.
11. Apply the yogurt dip on top part of the toasted bun and place it over the burger. Place this burger on a serving plate.
12. Serve with French fries and tomato ketchup.
