Lamb Shank Masala with zeera pulao

Ingredients for Marination:
Lamb Shank Pieces 4-5
Oil 1 tbsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp.
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp / to taste

Ingredients for Lamb Shank Masala Preparation:
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red whole chilies 2
Oil 1/2 cup
Tomatoes 2
Green chilies 3-4
Black cardamom 2
Star anise 2
Cinnamon sticks (2 inch) 2
Onion (sliced) 2 cups
Green chilies 1/3 cup
Marinated lamb shank pieces
Water 8 cups

Ingredients for Zeera Pulao:
Oil 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Water 3 cups
Salt 1 tbsp
Soaked rice 2 cups

Directions for Lamb Shank Masala Preparation:
1. In a bowl add lamb shank, oil, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and mix well.
2. Refrigerate for 15-20 mins.
3. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute.
4. Now add red whole chilies, black cardamom, star anise, cinnamon stick, and cook for a minute.
5. Add onion and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add tomatoes, green chilies and mix well.
6. Now add marinated Lamb Shank and add water. Cover and cook for 2 hours over low medium flame.
7. Your lamb shank masala is ready.
Directions for Zeera Pulao Preparation:
8. In a pot heat oil and add cumin seeds and sizzle for few seconds.
9. Now add water, salt, and bring it to a boil.
10. Add rice and cook until 80% water has been absorbed. Now cover and steam over low flame for 8-10 mins.
11. Your zeera pulao is ready. Serve with lamb shank masala and enjoy.
