For more tasty recipes, tips and product reviews pleaseSubscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/eateastindianOur facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/EatEastIndianFollow us on twitter: https://twitter.com/EatEastIndianPinterest: http://pinterest.com/eateastindian/Instagram: http://instagram.com/eateastindianIngredients/ Method1.5 cup Lentils ( i used 1 cup pink and 1/2 cup yellow lentils) Pink lentils turn out really creamy. 6 cups of water1 tsp ginger garlic paste1 tsp each cumin and mustard seeds1/2 cup small chopped onionoil for cooking2 small tomatoes1/2 tsp turmeric1 tsp salt ( adjust per taste)1 tsp paprika/ cayenne or red chilli powder1 tsp curry powdercilantro or green onions for garnishIn the pressure cooker, add some oil. Let oil become hot and then add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them sizzle for 30 secs. Add onions and ginger - garlic paste. Mix well. Add salt, turmeric and let fry until onions are no longer raw. Add tomatoes and mix well. Add paprika and curry powder. Give a quick stir to the mixture and let tomatoes become a little tender. Add lentils and water. Cover the pressure cooker and let cook until 1 whistle ( on high) then turn off the heat. Let pressure cooker cool down naturally then open it. Garnish the lentils and enjoy over rice or with roti.
