Puran poli is an authentic traditional Maharashtrian recipe. No festive menu in Maharashtra is complete without Puran Poli. It is very popular in Ganesh Chaturthi. Be it Holi, Gudi Padwa or Sankranti, making of Puran Poli and serving it with ghee and some warm milk is customary. There is another name "Obbatu" or "Holige" which is very famous in Karnataka. Holige on the other hand is slightly thicker than Puran Poli. The perfect preparation of Puran Poli is considered a highly-skilled task.

Ingredients

Wheat flour + all-purpose flour(250 gm)
100 gm chana daal(split chickpea)
100 gm powdered jaggery
¼ spoon salt
1 teaspoon Elayachi(Cardamom) powder
¼ spoon turmeric
5-6 spoon ghee(Butter)
