If you are bored of eating your Makahans just like that, this speedy and tasty recipe fixes your evening snack problemMAKHANA CHAATIngredients3 cups lotus seeds (makhana)½ bunch fresh coriander leaves10-15 fresh mint leaves3 garlic cloves½ inch ginger piece½ lemon2 green chillies1 tbsp raw peanutsSalt to taste1 tbsp ghee½ tsp red chilli powder½ tsp chaat masala + for sprinkling1½ cups yogurt1 tbsp powdered sugarDate and tamarind chutney for drizzlingRed chilli-garlic chutney for drizzlingBlack salt for sprinklingRoasted cumin powder for sprinklingChopped onion as requiredChopped tomato as requiredSev for sprinklingPomegranate pearls for garnishChopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish Method1. For the green chutney, take coriander and mint leaves in a blender jar. Add garlic cloves, ginger piece and squeeze lemon in it. Add green chillies, raw peanuts, and salt. Add ¼ cup water and blend to a fine paste. 2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add lotus seeds and sauté for 5-6 minutes on low heat. Add red chilli powder, chaat masala and mix well. Add salt and toss till well combined. Take the pan off the heat. 3. Take yogurt in a large bowl, add powdered sugar and the toasted lotus seeds and mix well. Transfer into individual serving bowls.4. Drizzle prepared green chutney, date and tamarind chutney, and drizzle red chilli-garlic chutney. Sprinkle chaat masala and black salt and roasted cumin powder.5. Sprinkle chopped onion, chopped tomato and sprinkle sev. Garnish with pomegranate pearls and chopped coriander.
