Prawns cooked in spicy freshly ground coconut red chilli masala.MALWANI PRAWNSIngredients1 teaspoon Malwani masala½ cup medium prawns, shelled and deveined with tails intact½ teaspoon turmeric powderSalt to taste2 tablespoons oil1 teaspoon coriander seeds3-4 dried red chillies1 medium onion, finely chopped½ cup fresh scraped coconut1 teaspoon rice 1 tablespoon chopped garlic½ cup coconut milk3-4 kokum petalsMethod1. Take prawns in a bowl. Add turmeric powder and salt, mix and set aside to marinate.2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add coriander seeds and sauté till fragrant. 3. Add broken dried red chillies and sauté for a minute. Add half the onion and sauté till golden. 4. Add coconut, mix and roast for 30 seconds. Switch off heat and add rice. 5. Grind the roasted spice-coconut mixture alongwith some water to a fine paste.6. Heat remaining oil in a non-stick pan. Add remaining onion and sauté on high heat till golden. 7. Add garlic and sauté till golden. Add prepared paste, mix and cook for a minute.8. Add marinated prawns, mix and cook for a minute.Reduce heat, add Malwanimasala and mix well. Add some water, mix and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. 9. Add coconut milk and mix well. Add kokum petals, mix and cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes.10.
