A super delicious curry made with white chickpeas which is easy to make and nutritious for you too.

MATRA CURRY

Ingredients

3 cups boiled dried white peas (matra)
2 tbsps oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 medium onions, chopped + for garnish
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
¾ tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp Tata Sampann Chole Masala
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
Salt to taste
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander + for garnish
2 tbsps scraped coconut + for garnish

Method

1. Heat oil in a deep nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds. Once they start to change colour, add onions and sauté till translucent.
2. Add ginger-garlic paste and continue to sauté for a minute.
3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Tata Sampann Chole Masala and sauté for a minute.
4. Add tomatoes, salt and sauté for 4-5 minutes or till the tomatoes are pulpy.
5. Add the cooked white peas and mix well. Add 1½ cups water, coriander, coconut and mix well.
6. Cover and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
7. Transfer into a serving bowl. Sprinkle chopped onions, scraped coconut and coriander and serve hot.
