Molagai Thokku (Green Chilli Pickle) || Preetha Srinivasan || Dakshin Curry | India Food Network

Molagai Thokku also known as Milagai Thokku is basically Green Chilli Pickle. Make this pickle at home by using Preetha's recipe and enjoy it with any and all food! For those who live alone and eat boring food everyday make this pickle and give your meals the spice it needs! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 cup green chillies
7 to 8 curry leaves
1 pinch whole hing
3 to 4 tbsp Sesame seed oil
1 small ball tamarind
2 tbsp jaggery
Salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds

Method:
Heat a pan and add sesame seeds. Once they start to toast, remove off flame.
In same pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and fry hing. Add curry leaves and chillies and sauté on a medium flame till chillies are well charred.
Remove and keep aside to cool.
In a mixie jar, combine the chillies mixture with toasted sesame, jaggery, salt and tamarind. Grind to a thick paste.
In a deep kadhai, heat remaining oil and crackle mustard seeds.
Add chilli paste and stir till the mixture is well cooked and thick.
Cool and transfer to a dry glass jar. Use as accompaniments with curd rice or parathas etc.
