Roasted moong dal in full cream milk with flavours of saffron, this creamy Moong Dal Kheer is sweetened with condensed milk and is an absolute delight to your taste buds.

MOONG DAL KHEER

Ingredients

½ cup Tata Sampann Organic Moong Dal
2½ cups full fat milk
1 tbsp ghee
A pinch of saffron + for garnish
¼ cup condensed milk
8-10 almonds, roasted and chopped + for garnish
8-10 cashew nuts, roasted and chopped + for garnish
10-12 pistachios, blanched, peeled and sliced + for garnish
A pinch of green cardamom powder

Method

1. Take Tata Sampann Organic Moong Dal in a bowl. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, let it melt.
2. Meanwhile, heat milk in a deep non-stick pan, let it come to a boil and reduce slightly for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
3. Add Tata Sampann Organic Moong dal in the melted ghee. Roast on medium flame till golden brown. Switch the heat off.
4. Add the roasted dal in the hot milk, mix well. Add saffron and mix, cook for 10-15 minutes or till the dal is cooked completely, mix well.
5. Add condensed milk, mix till well combined. Add almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios. Add green cardamom powder and mix well. Take it off the heat.
6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios and saffron.
