"Buttermilk Kuzhambu or Mor Kuzhambu(Tamil) is a commonly prepared dish in TamilNadu. This is a liquid curry recipe which is served with white or boiled rice, pancake made of lentils / mixed gram dosa.


Traditionally, it includes vegetables like okra, winter melon or ash gourd, colocasia, etc. The taste is a bit sour, and it is a dish of Tamil Nadu. It is widely prepared on festivals as a special dish. It is often served with hot steamed rice and potato fries.


This is very rich in calcium and Vitamin C. Has very low cholesterol."

Ingredients for the vegetables of the Mor Kuzhambu:

Chow-Chow or chayote squash - 1

                    

Method:

Wash and peel the Chow-Chow

Chop into big pieces

Boil till just lightly done

Keep aside


Ingredients for the Mor Kuzhambu:

Roasted gram Dal - ¼ cup

Grated coconut -¼ cup

Green chillies - 2 small

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Thick curds - 2 cup

Water - to make buttermilk

Grind the roasted gram Dal, coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds to a smooth paste and keep aside

Method:

Beat curd with some water to a buttermilk consistency

Add salt and turmeric powder and start boiling over SIM FLAME

Add the ground coconut paste and keep cooking over SIM FLAME

Now add the lightly boiled Chow -Chow

Add all of them and toss lightly

Switch off flame and serve yummy Mor Kuzhambu with a bowl of rice and Arbi/Sepankizhangu Roast
