Mutton Chop Masala | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Mutton lamb chops cooked in spicy onion tomato preparation and served hot.

MUTTON CHOP MASALA - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

750 grams mutton chops
3-4 tablespoons oil
4-5 cloves
7-8 black peppercorns
3-4 green cardamoms
1 inch cinnamon
3-4 medium onions, sliced
1½ tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
3-4 green chillies, slit
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
Juice of 1 lemon
½ cup fresh tomato puree
1 ½ teaspoons garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves
½ cup yogurt

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cloves, peppercorns, cardamoms and cinnamon and sauté well.
2. Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent. Add mutton chops and mix. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté well. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
3. Add green chillies, mix, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and lemon juice and mix well.
4. Add tomato puree, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add garam masala powder and salt and mix. Add mint leaves and yogurt, mix and cook till fully done.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
