South Indian Omapodi also called as "Sev" in north india, is a crunchy snack that can be eaten alone or topped over any chat items. This can be made plain or flavored with ajwain/omam or garlic. The ones that made with Omam/Ajwain is called "Omapodi" which is a main ingredient in South Indian mixture.
Ingredients:
Gramflour- 1 cup
Rice flour- 1 cup
Butter- 1 tbsp
Salt- As needed
Ajwain/Omam- 1 tsp
Oil- For frying
Cashews- For garnishing

Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients(Gram flour, rice flour, salt,butter and ajwain water).
2. Add water little by little to form a smooth dough.
3. Heat oil in a kadai. Put omapodi disc in sev maker.Take a portion of the dough and place it inside the sev maker.
4.Press the sev maker by directly keeping it on top of the oil. After 2-3 minutes. gently turn the omapodi with a slotted spoon.
5.When the oil stops sizzling, remove it with a slotted spoon.
6. Continue this until the batter is over.
7. Fry some cashews in ghee and then add it to the omapodi.Crush the sev into small pieces.
Omapodi is ready!!
