Kids grade Oriental Bhel as one of their favourite After School Treats.Oriental BhelPreparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 12 minutes Makes 2 servingsFor the stir-fry1 tsp butter1 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)½ cup sliced onions1 cup sliced coloured capsicum1 cup bean sprouts1 cup iceberg lettuce, torn into piecesSalt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to tasteFor the sauce½ cup tomato ketchup1 tsp soy sauce1 tsp vinegar2 tbsp finely chopped celery (ajmoda)Other ingredients6 samosa pattis, cut into long stripsOil for deep-fryingFor the stir-fry1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the garlic and onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.2. Add the capsicum, bean sprouts, lettuce, salt and pepper and sauté on a high flame for 3 minutes. Keep aside.For the sauce1. Combine all the ingredients in a broad non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously. Keep aside.How to proceed1. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add a few samosa patti strips at a time and deep-fry on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.2. Combine the fried noodles, stir fry and sauce in a deep bowl and toss well.3. Serve immediately.
