We are going to make a milk pudding from Ottoman times "Keshkul" (Kekl) kashkool) also referred to as the beggar's bowl is a container carried by wandering Dervishes. Each dervish lodge had its own carvings and ornaments on their kekl bowls, so if someone gave money or something else to the begging dervish, it would go to that lodge as a donation. The money collected with those bowls would then be used to make this milk pudding and served to the poor again using the same bowls. Therefore, the name of the pudding eventually got the name of the bowl, kekl, coming from the Ottoman saying, Kekl- Fukara (Poor Mans Kekl). Here is the written recipe: http://www.turkishfoodtravel.com/2020/11/24/almond-pudding-keshkul/Thank you for supporting me with a cup of coffee or buy me a ticket etc. and being my patron: https://www.patreon.com/turkishfoodtravelIngredients For Keshkul Almond Pudding:1-liter whole milk3/4 cup (150gr.) sugar1/2 cup ground almonds1 tsp vanilla powder or vanilla extractFor the thickening sauce (sbye):Little less than 1/2 cup (50gr.) corn or wheat starch200ml milk1 eggTo garnish ground almonds, pistachios, or unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)Other Milk dessert recipes from my channel:Turkish Rice Pudding "Sutlach" (Stla): https://youtu.be/TQ1ewh9O_Z0Turkish Chocolate Pudding "SUPANGLE" https://youtu.be/CzndflG_wXUCaramelized Rolled Pudding "Kazandibi" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhaPXlQv248SUBSCRIBE https://bit.ly/3iirrRCFOLLOW ME FROM INSTAGRAM http://instagram.com/turkishfoodtravelMY WEBSITE http://www.turkishfoodtravel.com Facebook: https://fb.me/turkishfoodtravel Don't forget to subscribe and press the notification button: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwVIj-OqEjXNqKpItChRrMQ?sub_confirmation=1
