Paruppu thuvaiyal recipe in tamil & english. This easy to make Thuvaiyal (chutney) is a South Indian condiment that goes very well with variety rices or with rice and rasam, sambar or kaara kuzhambu.

Shelf-life: 1 day, refrigerated 2-3 days

INGREDIENTS:
1. Oil - 2 tsp
2. Dry red chillies - 2
3. Red gram / Toor dal - 1/2 cup
4. Black peppercorns - 1 tsp
5. Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
6. Garlic cloves - 6
7. Tamarind - blueberry sized ball
8. Coconut, grated - 1/4 cup
9. Salt - to taste
10. Water - to grind
