Pepperoni and Asparagus Canapes | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Get the fresh, light taste of spring with this recipe. Little bread pieces topped with pepperoni, asparagus and cheese mixture and toasted on a pan.

PEPPERONI AND ASPARAGUS CANAPES

Ingredients

16 pepperoni slices
5-6 asparagus
4 white bread slices, edges discarded and cut into 4
½ teaspoon butter + for spreading
½ cup grated cheddar cheese
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes

Method

1. Spread some butter on each bread piece. Place one pepperoni slice on each bread pieces.
2. Cut asparagus into 2 inch pieces and place 3 pieces on each bread.
3. Take cheese in a bowl. Add crushed peppercorns, salt and chilli flakes and mix well.
4. Put some cheese mixture on prepared bread.
5. Heat ½ teaspoon butter in a non-stick pan. Place prepared bread, cover and cook till cheese melts.
6. Serve immediately.
