This spicy and sweet drink is absolutely amazing and tastes just out of the world when served chilled.

PERU PYALA

Ingredients

2 medium ripe guavas
A pinch of salt + for garnish
2 pinchs of Tata Sampann Chilli Powder + for garnish
5-6 ice cubes + to serve
½ cup sugar
1-2 green chillies, slit
½ tsp black pepper powder
3-4 tsp roasted cumin powder
Black salt to taste
¼ lemon wedge
Ice cubes as required
Fresh mint sprig for garnish

Method

1. Peel, roughly chop guavas.
2. Boil sufficient water in a deep pan, add the guavas, salt, a pinch of Tata Sampann Chilli Powder and mix and cook for 3-4 minutes. Drain and transfer into a blender jar.
3. Add ice cubes, ½ cup water, sugar and slit green chillies and blend to a fine paste. Strain the mixture into a large bowl.
4. Add 2 cups water and mix well, add black pepper powder, roasted cumin powder and black and mix.
5. Spread salt and remaining Tata Sampann Chilli Powder, apply lemon juice on the rim of the serving glasses and dip on the salt mixture.
6. Fill the glass with ice, pour the drink and garnish with mint sprig.
