PESTO SAUCE

In this episode, I'd like to share with you how to make your own
'Pesto Sauce' at home. It is so easy and yummy. Pasta's best friend and there are many ways to use 'Pesto' including soup, salad, pizza and sandwiches. You can click the link below for my 'Trofie Al Pesto' recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Fresh Basil (Or Purple Basil)
3 tbsp Pine Nuts
125 gr (1/4 pounds) Parmesan or Turkish Aged Kashar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 big clove Garlic
Sea Salt&Pepper

DIRECTIONS:

Toss the pine nuts for 3-4 minutes and let cool.
Rinse the basil leaves, discard the stalks.
Pesto is traditionally prepared in a mortar and pestle.
You can also use a blender or food processor :)
Place the cheese into the bowl of a food processor and pulse a several times.
Add pine nuts, basil leaves, garlic (peeled), a pinch
of salt, black pepper to taste and pulse again.
Scrape down the sides then add the olive oil and pulse again.
Transfer the pesto to a bowl and there you have it!
You can refrigerate and store for up to a week.
