Combine your trick and your treat this Halloween with an activated charcoal candy-coated "poison" apple.INGREDIENTS:Nonstick spray1 cup water2 1/2 cups sugar1/2 cup corn syrup2 tablespoons edible activated charcoalBlack food coloring6 to 8 applesSprinkles, for decorating (optional)STEPS:1.) Prepare a sheet tray with parchment paper and coat with nonstick spray.2.) In a saucepan over medium-high heat, add water, sugar, corn syrup, charcoal and food coloring (if needed). Bring to a boil and simmer until sugar reaches hard-crack stage, 300 degrees.3.) Insert a popsicle stick into each apple. When sugar is done, quickly dip each apple to coat.
