In a pot heat oil and add onion. Cook for a minute.2. Add garlic, green chilies, tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt and cook for a few seconds.3. Add red lentil and yellow lentil and mix it well.4. Add water and cook for 2-3 mins. Now cover and cook for 15-20 mins or until fully done.Directions for Tadka Preparation:5. In a pan heat oil and add garlic, mustard seeds, green chilies, cumin seeds, whole red chilies, bay leaves and cook for 1-2 mins.6. Pour this tadka over prepared daal.
