Quick Masala Gobhi Recipe, Spiced Cauliflower Recipe | Eat East Indian

Learn how to prepare spiced cauliflower the Indian way called Masala Gobhi. This is a simple and quick side dish and goes well with roti, parantha or poori.

Ingredients:

1 head of cauliflower (We are using Cheddar Cauliflower)
1 tsp salt (adjust per taste)
1/2 tsp Turmeric and Red chilli pwd
1/2 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
1 tbsp Ginger/garlic paste
1 medium size chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green onion and cilantro for garnish
2 tbsp oil for cooking
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (Kasoori Methi)

Method:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds.
2. Add onions and ginger garlic paste
3. Add spices. Mix well and let onions cook.
4. Once onions start turning brown add cauliflower and 1/2 cup water.
5. Mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 10 mins.
MAKE SURE YOU KEEP STIRRING IN BETWEEN TO AVOID LETTING CAULIFLOWER STICK TO THE PAN.
6. Once cauliflower is tender, consider the dish to be done. Add Kasoori methi, garnish and lemon juice.
Serve with Roti or Parantha
