RAW BANANA CHOPS

Ingredients

300 grams raw bananas, peeled
¼ tsp Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Spice paste
2 tbsps tamarind pulp
8-10 curry leaves, shredded
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
3½ tsps rice flour
2 tsps oil + for shallow frying
Chaat masala to sprinkle

Method

1. Halve the raw bananas and slice each half lengthwise.
2. Boil sufficient water in a deep pan, add Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder and salt and mix.
3. Add the raw banana slices and cook for 5 mins. Drain and set aside to cool.
4. To make the spice paste, take tamarind pulp in a bowl, add curry leaves, red chilli powder, coriander powder, rice flour and oil and mix well.
5. Apply the spice paste on to each banana slice and gently rub to coat all sides.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, place the banana slices and shallow fry till crisp on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Arrange the raw banana chops on a serving plate, sprinkle chaat masala and serve immediately.
