Sabudane Ki Kheer | Navratri Special | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A delicious and fun alternative to the traditional rice pudding. This sabudana kheer is a yummy treat which tastes no less than the Rice Kheer!

SABUDANE KI KHEER

Ingredients

1 cup sago (sabudana), soaked
3 cups milk
½ cup grated mawa/khoya
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon chopped almonds
1 tablespoon chopped cashewnuts
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon raisins
½ teaspoon green cardamom powder

Method

1. Heat 4 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add sago, mix and cook well.
2. Add milk and mawa, mix well and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes.
3. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté on medium heat till golden.
4. Add sugar to the sago mixture, mix well and continue to cook.
5. Add raisins to the nuts, mix and sauté for a minute. Add the sautéed nuts to the sago mixture and mix well.
6. Add cardamom powder, mix well and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
7. Serve warm.

Preparation Time: 1-1½ hours
Cooking Time: 15-18 minutes
