The founder, Uncle Peter Tan, discovered his passion in cooking when he was a teen, having accompanied his father delivered equipment for wedding banquets held in kampongs back in 1960s. In 1983, he took a big leap and set up a stall at the former Sommerset House, selling Nyona-style Nasi Padang. Fast forward to today, Uncle Peter Tan has made a remarkable comeback after attempting to retire, and together with his sons, the family now dishes out nearly 30 mouthwatering varieties daily.Located at Blk 22 Sin Ming Road, the stall is a hidden gem serving up some of the most delicious dishes. From spice-laden barbeque fish, chicken, and sotong to rich and tender curry fish and chicken, there's something for everyone. The mutton and beef Rendang are also a must-try, with a good balance of spicy and savory flavours. And let's not forget about the homemade otak otak and Achar, which are equally delicious. The pillowy otak is stuffed with chunks of mackerel and spices. If you're in the mood for a satisfying meal, pair these flavourful dishes with our blue pea rice. You won't be disappointed!
