SIMPLE PRAWN PULAO

Ingredients

16-20 medium prawns, shelled and deveined
1½ cups rice, soaked for 15-20 minutes
2-3 tablespoons oil
2-3 cloves
2 bay leaves
1 inch cinnamon
5-6 black peppercorns
2-3 green cardamoms
1 medium onion, chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
½ cup coconut milk

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon, peppercorns, green cardamoms and sauté for a minute.
2. Add onion and mix well. Add salt, mix and sauté till onion turns golden.
3. Add prawns, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masalapowder and chopped coriander and mix well.
4. Add rice and salt, mix well. And 2 cups water and coconut milk and mix well.Cover and cook till prawns and rice are completely done.
5. Serve hot.
