Keep a lookout for a brightly lit stall called Super Star Original Famous Penang Laksa (its also halal-certified) locatedtowards the back of Peoples Park Food Centre. Youll be warmly welcomed by the very friendly Ms Pat, the chatty lady boss of this acclaimed Penang laksa stall. Ms Pat was born and raised in the northern part of Malaysia, and her upbringing definitely had an impact on her laksa. You can tell that she is very proud of it and judging from the smell wafting over from the vats of broth in the kitchen, it's no surprise at all.The Kampung Penang Assam Laksa came generously topped with a mountain of ingredients such as ikan kembung (chub mackerel), sliced cucumbers, onions, fresh mint leaves, pineapple chunks, green chilli and finely-sliced bunga kantan (torch ginger flowers).
