Cooking Time: 10 minutes. Serves 4.Soaking time: 5 minutes.¾ cup soya granules 2½ cups milk5 tbsp sugar1 tsp cornflour dissolved with 1 tbsp water¼ tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder½ tsp saffron dissolved in 2 tsp milkFor the garnish1 tbsp almond (badam) slivers1. Soak the soya granules in enough hot water for 5 minutes, cover with a lid and keep aside.2. Drain well and wash the soya granules 2 to 3 times under running water. Keep aside.3. Heat the milk in a broad non-stick pan and bring to boil, while stirring continuously.4. Add the soya granules, sugar and cornflour-water mixture and mix well. Cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes or till the kheer thickens, while stirring continuously.5. Add the cardamom powder and saffron-milk mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.6.
