These yummy deep fried sticks are a great tea time snack! Easy to make and easier to eat!SOYA STICKSIngredients1 cup soya flour½ cup rice flour¼ cup split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) flour2 tbsps gram flour (besan)¼ tsp turmeric powder½ tsp red chilli powder½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)Salt to taste1 tbsp butter, room temperature1 tsp cumin powderOil for deep fryingMethod1. Take soya flour in a large bowl, add rice flour, split skinless black gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, carom seeds, salt, butter and cumin powder and mix. Add ¾ cup hot water and knead to a soft dough. 2. Place the dough into a greased chakli press fitted with a chakli attachment.3. Take a plastic sheet on a worktop and press the chakli press to form sticks and cut them in half with a knife. 4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, slide in the sticks and deep fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.5. Allow the chakli sticks to cool to room temperature and store in an air tight container or serve as required.
