Using pap as a pie crust is SO CLEVER Definitely trying these out for a weeknight dinner ASAP!! FULL RECIPEServings: 4 - 6IngredientsFor the maize meal crust:2 cups vegetable/chicken stock1 cup White Star Quick Maize Meal1 tbsp butterSalt, to taste For the Pot Pies:1 can baked beans 1 can hot & spicy chakalaka 600 g boerewors Salt & pepper, to taste 1 Egg, beatenFresh parsleyRecipeFor the maize meal crust:1. Bring 1 cups stock to the boil in a medium pot.2. Mix the remaining 1 cup of stock with 1 cup of White Star Quick Maize Meal to form a paste. Gradually add the maize meal paste while stirring, using a whisk. Cover with a lid. 3. Bring to the boil and cook on medium heat for 4 5 minutes. 4. Remove from the heat and add the butter, salt & pepper. For the spicy bean and boerie pot pies:1. Preheat the oven to 180 and grease 4 - 6 mini ramekins. 2. Add the boerewors to a hot pan and fry on both sides for 4 minutes until cooked. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into bite sized pieces. In a large bowl, combine the baked beans with the spicy chakalaka. Stir the boerewors through the bean mixture gently. Season to taste.3. Split this mixture into the ramekins and top with the pap mixture. Brush the tops with an egg wash4. Bake for 20 25 minutes until a golden and a crispy crust has formed. 5.
