Spinach and Cheese Idlis | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Spinach puree mixed with idli batter and steamed, topped with cheese slices.

SPINACH AND CHEESE IDLIS

Ingredients

Readymade idli batter as required
½ cup spinach puree
2 cheese slices, cut into small cubes
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing
½ teaspoon crushed black peppercorns
1 tablespoon ginger-green chilli paste

Method

1. Put batter in a bowl, add ginger-green chilli paste and salt and mix well.
2. Add spinach puree and mix well.
3. Grease idlimoulds with little oil and pour the prepared batter into each mould, top with cheese and steam for 5-10 minutes.
4. Top with cheese and demould the idlis
5. Serve hot garnished crushed peppercorns.
6. Cool, demould and serve with chutney.
