SWEET AND SOUR KELA VADAIngredients2 raw bananas (kela), boiled, peeled and mashedOil for deep-frying1 green chilli, crushed1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves1 teaspoon garam masala powder2 teaspoons sugar1 tablespoon lemon juiceSalt to taste¾ cup gram flour (besan)A pinch of baking sodaGreen chutney for servingMethod1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. 2. Mix together bananas, green chilli, coriander leaves, garam masala powder, sugar, lemon juice and salt in a bowl. 3. Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape into balls. 4. Take gram flour in another bowl. Add some water and mix well to make a semi-thick batter. 5. Add salt and baking soda to the batter and mix well.6. Dip each ball in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.7. Serve hot with green chutney.
