The perfect combination of sweet and sour these raw bananas are the perfect snack fro a get together.

SWEET AND SOUR KELA VADA

Ingredients

2 raw bananas (kela), boiled, peeled and mashed
Oil for deep-frying
1 green chilli, crushed
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
¾ cup gram flour (besan)
A pinch of baking soda
Green chutney for serving

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Mix together bananas, green chilli, coriander leaves, garam masala powder, sugar, lemon juice and salt in a bowl.
3. Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape into balls.
4. Take gram flour in another bowl. Add some water and mix well to make a semi-thick batter.
5. Add salt and baking soda to the batter and mix well.
6. Dip each ball in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with green chutney.
