Sweetened version of khichdi made with the use of broken wheat and chana dal.SWEET KHICHDIIngredients2 cups broken wheat, soaked1½ cups split Bengal gram2 cups sugar¼ cup cashewnuts + for garnishing¼ cup raisins + for garnishing½ cup fresh scraped coconut + for garnishing½ teaspoon green cardamom powder2 tablespoons gheeMethod1. Pressure cook wheat and Bengal gram in a pressure cooker alongwith 7 cups water till 1 whistle. Reduce heat and cook for 7-8 minutes.2. To prepare sugar syrup, heat sugar in a non-stick pan. Add 1 cup water, mix and cook till it reaches one string consistency. 3. Add pressure cooked wheat-Bengal gram mixture into the sugar syrup and mix well. Add cashewnuts and raisins, mix, cover and cook on low heat for 5-6 minutes.4. Add coconut, cardamom powder and ghee and mix well.5.
