Tadka Roti | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A spiced deconstructed roti. This flavour dynamite is a great way to reinvent the everyday bread.

TADKA ROTI

Ingredients

4-6 leftover rotis
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
A pinch asafoetida
5-7 curry leaves
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

1. Grind torn rotis to make a coarse powder.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves and mix well.
3. Add onion and sauté on medium heat till golden. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
4. Add powdered rotis and mix. Add chopped coriander and mix well. Add some water, mix, cover and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes.
5. Serve hot.

Preparation Time: 3-5 minutes
Cooking Time: 8-10 minutes
