Tandoori Chicken Karahi
Ingredients for Tandoori Chicken:
Chicken 500 g
Chaat masala 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Red food color(optional) 1/4 tsp
Yogurt 3 tbsp
Ghee/oil 1 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Oil (for cooking) 1 tbsp

Ingredients for Karahi:
Oil 1/4 cup
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Butter 1 tbsp
Tomatoes (Chopped) 1 cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder 1/2
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Coriander (Crushed) 1 tbsp
Cumin (crushed) 1 tbsp
Red chili flakes 1/2 tbsp
Leftover chicken marination
Water 1/2 cup
Tandoori chicken

Ingredients for Garnishing:
Green Coriander (Chopped) as required
Green chilies (round cut) as required
Ginger (julienne) as required

Directions for Tandoori Chicken Preparation:
1. In a bowl add chicken, chaat masala. Turmeric powder, red chili powder, vinegar, red food color, yogurt, oil, salt, garam masala powder and mix well. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes or overnight.
2. Thread the marinated chicken on skewers.
3. In a grill pan heat oil and place the marinated chicken skewers on it. Cook each side for 5-6 minutes. Take off flame and set aside. Save the leftover chicken tandoori marination for further use.
Directions for Karahi Preparation:
4. In a pot heat oil and butter and add ginger paste and garlic paste. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Now add tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add water and cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
6. When the tomatoes are soft, add left over chicken tandoori marination and mix well. Now add crushed cumin, coriander, red chili flakes and cook for 1-2 minutes.
7. Now add prepared tandoori chicken and give it a good mix. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
8. Garnish it with coriander, green chilies, ginger and your Tandoori Chicken Karahi is ready.
