Thai Chicken Coconut Soup (Tom Kha Gai) Thai Girl in the Kitchen

One of the favorite Thai dishes, Thai chicken coconut soup or Tom Kha Gai .

How to Make Thai chicken coconut soup (Tom Kha Gai - ) | Thai Girl in the Kitchen



Ingredients:

- 600g. Chicken thighs
- 60g. Galangal
- 60g. Shallots or Red onion
- 60g. Lemongrass
- 80g. Oyster mushroom *
- 50g. Tomatoes *OPTIONAL
- 10g. Kaffir lime leaves
- 10g. Cilantro
- 10g. Sawtooth coriander (culantro) *OPTIONAL
- 30g. Red chili
- 15g. Dried chili *OPTIONAL
- 1,000ml Water
- 600ml. Coconut milk

Seasonings:

- 1 tbsp. Tamarind
- 2 tbsp. Lime juice
- 1/2 tbsp. Palm sugar
- 6 tbsp. Fish sauce


**NOTE : Mushrooms and tomatoes are very nice to have in this soup but also optional.
If you cannot get oyster mushroom, you may use : straw mushroom, shimeji mushroom, golden needle mushroom, button mushroom or any other neutral flavor mushrooms.

Serve hot and enjoy!
