This Stuffed Pasta With Bacon Cream Sauce Recipe is Delicious and Savory! Today on What's On Sale at The Grocery Store - Glen scored some cheap eats, that combined with staple pantry items makes a great easy (mostly) one pot meal. In this series we're working on the basics of cooking, pantry cooking, cooking methods Vs. recipes. Learn basic cooking methods and you don't need a recipe - you can cook great tasty meals with what you find on sale at the grocery store and what's already in your cupboard.

Ingredients:
Oil for frying
Handful mushrooms, sliced
1-2 slices bacon, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 small onion, minced
5 mL ( tsp) thyme
4 sun dried tomato, minced.
5-10 mL (1-2 tsp) peperoncini / red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
125 mL ( cup) white wine
250 mL (1 cup) heavy cream 35%
125 mL ( cup) grated Parmesan / pecorino
500g (1 lb) fresh tortellini

Method:
Salt and boil a pot of water for the pasta.
In a large pan, heat oil on medium high heat, and saut the mushrooms until golden.
Remove the mushrooms from the pan, and then fry the bacon and onion until golden.
Add the mushrooms back to the pan, along with the thyme, salt and pepper.
Fry a few minutes longer than deglaze the pan with wine, then add the sun dried tomato, and peperoncini.
Simmer to reduce the wine by half.
Cook the tortellini / pasta as per package instructions.
While the pasta cooks; add the cream to the sauce.
Cook for a couple of minutes then add the cheese to the sauce.
Reduce heat to low and add the cooked pasta, along with some cooking water if needed.
Cook a minute or two more, then serve.
