Turkish Flat Bread

Ingredients:

All purpose flour/Maida - 2 cups

Dry yeast - 1 tbsp

Sugar - 1 tsp

Curd - ½ cup

Salt to taste

Olive oil/any vegetable oil - 3 or 4 tbsp

Ghee/butter - as reqd

Chilli flakes - as reqd

Coriander leaves (chopped) - as reqd

Method:

In a small bowl, add the yeast

To it add the sugar

Now add 5 tbsps of lukewarm water and mix

Allow this mix to rest for 15 mins

The Yeast mix would be very foamy

Keep aside

Now in a big dish, add all purpose flour/maida

Add the salt 

Then add the Yeast mix

Now add the curd and mix together well

Now add the oil and mux

Try to form a dough sprinkiling some water

Make a soft and sticky dough, without kneading too much

Smear the dough all over with oil and cover

Allow to rest for 1 hour or till the dough rises or doubles

Now, knock out the air and divide the dough into equal sized balls

Roll out into discs

Heat a tava or griddle

Toast on bith side till the Turkish bread puffs up

Spread ghee or butter while the Turkish bread is still hot

Sprinkle the chilli flakes and coriander leaves

Serve the Turkish Flat Bread hot with some spicy gravy like Jalfrezi
