TURKISH PIE RECIPE - Krpk BrekIn this episode, I'd like to Show you how to make 'KIRPIK BOREK'. It is very easy to prepare and so yummy. For the filling, I use Turkish white cheese, feel free to use any filling, whatever your heart desires. And I also use YUFKA, Turkish round shaped pastry dough. If you wanna use regular filo dough, make sure to use 6 filo, instead of 3 Yufka. (10.5 oz) Turkish white cheese (or feta)1 cup parsley (chopped)1/2 cup fresh dill (chopped)1 egg1/2 cup milkOlive oilSalt, pepperPaprikaBlack sesame seeds (optional)DIRECTIONS:Grease a medium sized baking sheet with 1-2 tbsp olive oil.Then spread 1 Yufka, leaving edges to overhang and set aside until needed.For the filling: Cut 2 remaining Yufka into little pieces and transfer to a big bowl.Add crumbled cheese, and chopped veggies.Do not add salt if the cheese is salty! Only blackpepper to taste and paprika if deslred.Then add 1-2 tbsp olive oil and gently mix.For the egg wash: whisk 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk and 1/3 cup olive oil.Add a pinch of salt and pepper whisk again.Spread the filling all over the baking sheet.Reserve 1/4 cup of the egg wash and wet the filling using a spoon.Close the overhanging edges of Yufka on top of the filling.Brush the top with remaining egg wash.Sprinkle with black sesame seeds if desired. Preheat the oven to 200 C (390 F), meanwhile refrigerate Brek for about 15 minutes.Bake it for 20 minutes or until golden brown.Remove from the oven, let cool for 5 minutes then slice as desired.
