VANILLA FLAN - (Serves - 4)Ingredients1 vanilla pod6 tablespoons cornstarch1 cup fresh cream4 egg yolks1 egg3 cups milk1 cup castor sugar1 large half baked pie shellMethod1. Preheat oven to 180° C.2. Combine cornstarch and cream in a bowl and whisk well. Add egg yolks and whisk. Break an egg and whisk well. 3. Heat milk in a small deep non-stick pan. Add castor sugar and vanilla extract alongwith the pod. Remove from heat, discard the pod and cool.4. Add cornstarch-egg mixture to milk mixture and whisk continuously. 5. Place the pan back on heat, whisk continuously and cook till mixture thickens. Transfer in another bowl, cover with cling film and refrigerate to chill. 6. Place the half baked pie on a baking tray and pour the prepared vanilla mixture into the pie. 7. Put the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
