Vegetable Paniyarams || Dakshin Curry | India Food Network

Hosting a house party to bring in the New Year? Preetha shows you how to make a quick & yummy snack that you can add to your new year special menu!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp chana dal

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1.5 tbsp mixed chopped ginger, curry leaves and green chillies

1/3 cup grated or finely chopped vegetables (carrot,beans,onion etc)

1/4 cup grated coconut

1.5 cups Idli/ Dosa batter

Salt as required

Oil for frying

Method:

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once it crackles, add chana dal, cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger and sauté for few seconds, till dals are cooked.

Add vegetables and salt and sauté for few seconds. Add coconut and mix well. Remove from flame a lnd allow to cool.

Add to batter and mix well. Pour in greased paniyaram mould and fry on both sides (as shown in video). Cook till evenly brown.
