Vlog: Trying UNIQUE Korean sweets in Gangwon-Do with #hellokorea2020 !

Today I'm heading out on a one day tour from Seoul to the East coast of South Korea. I'm meeting up with 'Hello Korea' and the Korea Tourism Organization and joining a FAM trip with various foreign content creators in Korea. In this vlog, I will make some traditional Korean snacks, try some Korean makgeolli, and explore the traditional fishing markets of Donghae, located in Gangwon-Do.

Our first stop is the city of Donghae. This small town can now easily be reached by the KTX from Seoul, and takes about 2.5 hours. We start with lunch at a restaurant called Al Mare.

We then head to the area called Nongoldam-gil. This road starts from Mukho Port and goes up to Mukho Lighthouse. Along the way I see various murals that were painted in 2010 by local artists and residents.

I then venture off to check out the local market. I spot some unique street food called (crab bread) that I just had to try out. It was an interesting snack I've never seen elsewhere in Korea.

I then check out some dried fish and squid. While Donghae is well-known for its fresh seafood, it's also home to some great dried seafood that makes great anju (side dishes with beer).

After that, we traveled an hour to the city of Gangneung. We checked out Le Cottage - a 200 year old hanok that is renovated into a "lifestyle farm". I even had the chance to try my hand at making some Korean traditional snacks!

Overall, this area in Gangwon-do is great for a one day escape from Seoul. Those planning to visit South Korea should definitely mark this on their itinerary! Thanks to Hello Korea 2020 for hosting this fam trip!
